Twelfth Night Menu

Come and enjoy a sumptuous 12th Night picnic on the grassy lawns, under the spreading trees!

We hope to match the lovely setting, so put all your medieval gear on show and hide your mundane gear (eskies etc).
On Saturday, we will be providing lunch, an afternoon snack and the evening meal.
On Sunday, we will have a morning snack and lunch.
Bring your picnic rugs, cushions, baskets and feasting gear and jugs (or bottle covers) for your drinks.

Picnic Feast Menu

First Course

Roast chicken – with three sauces: Juvert (green sauce), Cherry sauce and Mustard
Pommeaulx – Beef meatballs with spices and parsley
Head cheese – Pork brawn with spices
Crostada of fresh fish – Fish pie with fresh herbs, cheese & nuts
(Vegetarian dishes – Genovese Gattafura (leek & cheese tart); Melanzane in Quaresima – stuffed eggplant, Tourte of broad beans – with leeks & spices)
Frittata – with herbs
Mushrooms – Grilled with garlic, or with cheese
Dolmades – vine leaves with rice and herbs
Cucumber salad – with oil and vinegar
Platina’s salad – salad greens with herbs and flowers

Credenza Course

Marchpane sotelie – Marzipan
Crostada di Ciliegie – Cherry tartlets with amaretti
Biscotti – Biscuits with anise
Sambocade – Custard tarts with elderflower
Leche Lumbard – Dates boiled in wine with spices
Fresh fruit
All advised food issues have been taken into account – a detailed allergy list will be available.

Service

Households will be served in units of 4 (8, 12 etc). Please elect someone from your household to collect your platters from the field kitchen, and return them at the end of the meal. The 2nd course will be presented on the credenza, with assisted service.
